Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Our main foster home is in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. We have a few other foster homes in the local area of Northern NJ.

How much is the adoption fee?

We charge $100 per kitten (That includes their 8 week visit, deworming & first distemper vaccine). We prefer to place our even number litters in pairs. Adopters looking to adopt litter-mates will have preference. If we have an odd number in a litter we will consider adopting a single kitten to a home that already has another cat (for companionship).

At what age do you adopt the kitten?

We adopt out as early as 8 weeks, once the kitten is old enough for its first distemper vaccination. We do not adopt our young kittens to homes with children under 8 years old. Kitten will only be about 2 pounds.

Is the kitten spayed or neutered prior to adoption?

The kitten is not spayed or neutered before adoption because we do not participate in pediatric spay and neuter. The adopter will have the kitten spayed or neutered at 5-6 months of age by their vet or our vet (Montclair-Verona Animal Hospital) at a discounted cost. (Rescue spay price: $140, Rescue neuter price: $110). The adopter will sign a contract binding them to this timeline.

What is your process?

The potential adopter will complete an application. Once the application is approved and we have checked their vet reference, they will be allowed to visit the foster home for a meet and greet with the kittens and myself. We will let the applicants know if they are a match within 3 days (giving us sufficient time to meet all applicants).
